A Pennington Penny for your thoughts ladies and gents… what do you make of the revamp to the Castle Hotel?
Not seen it yet… you mean you weren’t invited to the launch party? Darling, it was such a blast…
After a most enjoyable evening stroll into town, well you can’t enjoy the hospitality properly if you’re driving, can you Willy? It started to rain… purple rain 😉
Well that’s not strictly the flow, it started with a few glasses of champagne… and was followed by a few more… a prize for the first person who comments on how many times I mention champagne!
We had a tour of the new facilities… they named the rooms after local Royal Warrant holders…
I did asked if they had one named Uma Patel but our host didn’t think so 😉 You’d best have a word my friend…
The beds were very impressive, the mattresses are well sprung apparently, especially for the ladies…
And of course I asked if they had a book called Sally to go with Harry… it’s the way I tell ‘em…
Plenty of room in these newly decorated suites… and the prices are very favourable too… you’d best book a room and make some Memories… playing Kings & Queens… maybe even Queens & Queens 😉
Quick get me some more champagne, this is getting too serious, I can feel it wearing off!
After the Pennington Penny story telling… which the Mrs knew ‘cos she worked at the hotel when she was a nipper, we got back just in time for one more glass of champagne before the Mayor said a few words to the gathered throng…
The Mayor of Windsor & Maidenhead Dee Quick was in the house, welcoming the guests… last time I saw the Mayor was at Her Majesty’s Garden Party back in the summer… well I had to get that in didn’t I?
A few more glasses of Champagne and they were dancing in the isles…
Well this young couple from the New Forest were swinging to the sound of Carl Buckley, what a voice, need a crooner then here’s your man!
Had to drag the Mrs away kicking a screaming after swooning to his vocals…
After discussing the positive attributes of coconut oil with a professional chef… we enjoyed a fine selection of great food… yum, yum, yum!
We shared a table with a lovely couple from Windsor Festival… we raised a glass or two of Champagne to absent friends (surprised you weren’t there Guy)
It was a great night to launch the hotel and end my dry January with a few glasses of Champagne… it was very good Champagne because after double digit glasses I am still able to write this little ditty the morning after…
What a great Memory we created at the MGallery… go create some of your own 😉
Thank you.
Jon
