Last year Rudolph shone brightly on Sutherland Grange, welcoming those young at heart into Windsor. This year he needs a new home…
Gifted to me by the manager at Wyevale, it made sense to use this opportunity to give him wings, focusing on the needs of Windsor’s homeless and so Rudolph will be one of the prizes in the raffle for Windsor Homeless Project’s SleepOut 2021.
I was touched by the story of local Labour Party chair Angus Cameron who had struggled with alcoholism which ended with him spending nights sleeping in the open. I hadn’t known him personally but a good friend of mine DKL had been chair of Maidenhead Labour Party and a governor of Windsor College before sadly being taken by Covid last year. So a bunch of dots joined in my head!
I have never been homeless, always having somewhere to rest my head. I can’t imagine and hope never to know how it would be to not have somewhere to go.
By spending a night out, hopefully under the stars and not the pouring rain, I can raise money for a good cause while remembering those who have gone before and give thanks for my life.
If you could make a small donation to my fundraiser that would be appreciated.
The folks at Windsor Homeless Project are organising an evening’s entertainment, so join us, tickets are just £20 and you’ll be able to buy raffle tickets on the night for a host of prizes, including Rudolph 😉
