Adult Dyslexia Centre ADC Maidenhead, Berkshire

I received this email the other day from Emily and today I’m sharing with a wider community… if you would like to see information about your community group published here then contact us…

“Hi, I spotted your newsletter in Tesco and thought it was a great idea.

I’m a trustee for a local charity, The Adult Dyslexia Centre (ADC), that supports adults with dyslexia. I’m wondering if you might feature a small article about our charity and the work we do.

We’re looking for more members to join our adult support group. The group is for adults with dyslexia to share experiences with others and to boost their self-confidence. The group meets online fortnightly, and in person in Maidenhead, once a month. We invite guest speakers to meetings to share advice and guidance on topics such as understanding dyslexia, employment and self-esteem. To enquire about joining, email

We’re a small, friendly group and would love to hear from new people!

We also run an online course for parents, carers and teachers to help them support dyslexic children. The course consists of 6 interactive evening sessions, held on Monday evenings at 7.30pm. Participants have the chance to learn about assistive technology, writing, reading and spelling strategies, maths and dyslexia, and a general understanding of what dyslexia is. The course costs £60 but a reduced rate is available if you’re on a low income or unemployed. To enquire, email

Thanks for the work you’re doing and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Emily Gow
