Eight years ago my Yorkshire pal Asghar Majeed was Mayor of Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead and got to go for a walk with Her Majesty from Windsor Castle down to the Guildhall.
He introduced Her Majesty and his Royal Highness to Yorkshire tea and shared a story of how they’d re-named part of Ceylon “Yorkshire” 😉
The streets are a tad different today, instead of thousands of people on the streets of Windsor to wish Her Majesty a happy birthday, there are no coaches in the coach park and most of the people in town are queuing for the post office!
