If you know anything about the chopping down of the trees at the top of Wolf Lane opposite Hemwood Road then please report to RBWM using trees@rbwm.gov.uk quoting the Thames Valley Police crime reference number 1223 151221 in the email title so they can build a case with TVP.

The land is one of these small plots bought at auction by ill-informed individuals who believe they will be able to build their dream home on them!

Residents made me aware of the situation and I immediately contacted the relevant officers.

I received an email from our lead officer on trees who advised they had raised the issue with the Thames Valley Police and that residents should email them with any information plus…

“We’ll need to leave all the evidence on site for the time being and we’ll clear the arisings away once the investigation has been concluded.

I will arrange for 3 replacement trees to be planted next winter, these are to have cages which I hope will deter further criminal damage.”

Thank you to all those who made me aware of the situation and sharing your observations.

  1. Dear Cllr Davey,

So glad to see this post. I was upset and annoyed to see the two trees had been chopped down early this week. Unfortunately I didn’t witness the vandalism happening so can’t be of any help, but did wonder how long it would take for the inevitable planning permission to go in. Hopefully this will not now happen – if it does, for what it is worth, I will definitely object!

I look forward to seeing the new trees planted next Winter.

    Kind regards Sue Milne
