Local Councillors gave Planning Permission for the wheel, others did the business deal to allow it to take up residence in Alexandra Gardens. It’s fair to assume that’s in the order of just £40k for six months in a prime position.

The cherry blossom tree and undamaged lawns are looking fine…

But the re-turfed lawns, damaged by the 40 ton fair ground rides, are looking dried out and curled up at the edges like sarnies left out in the midday sun. Hopefully next week’s rain will give it a chance of life.

The section under the central oak tree is looking great. Better than it has done in years. Must be the shade that helps the lawn grow just right.

There were hundreds of people walking around Alexandra Gardens today in the spring sunshine. Playing football, cricket ad picnicking with friends.
If you would rather it was allowed to be more natural and that huge fairground rides, that trash the lawns, were discouraged then please sign the petition. It has currently been signed by 347 people, that’s 1% of residents. Some Councillors might consider that insignificant, others will hopefully be more cautious and recognise the true feeling this represents.
Give Alexandra Gardens back to the people…
