Remembrance Day is the 11th November and Remembrance Sunday is the 2nd Sunday of November.
The purpose of Poppy Day is to remember but also to raise money for the RBL. Traditionally within a few days of Remembrance Sunday poppies on public display are taken down.
In recent years large plastic poppies, bought by RBWM, have been put up on lampposts by local residents. The Royal British Legion representative for Windsor, appreciating that residents who put them up may have full time jobs, respectfully asks that the lamppost poppies are taken down by Sunday 20th November.
This may not be possible for some who volunteered to put them up and so to ensure continued respect, RBL will remove any remaining poppies early next week.
Thank you for your understanding.
