The 23rd April should be recognised as a National Day of celebration where all communities across England come together.
It’s home to many people from many countries and has always been that way.
People who come from troubled parts of the world or simply come for economic reasons are warmly welcomed by the majority and allowed to celebrate their differences.
I’d love to see a National Day of celebration of unity and oneness with England as the mother country for all who choose to live here.
I think we should celebrate St George’s Day, fly the George Cross and gather with our friends and neighbours to feast and talk about what this country has done for each and every one of us.
Thank you.

Saint George (Greek: Γεώργιος, translit. Geṓrgios, Latin: Georgius, Syriac: ܡܪ ܓܘܪܓܝܣ Arabic: القديس جرجس; died 23 April 303), also George of Lydda, was a Christian who is venerated as a saint in Christianity. According to tradition he was a soldier in the Roman army. Saint George was a soldier of Cappadocian Greek origin and member of the Praetorian Guard for Roman emperor Diocletian, who was sentenced to death for refusing to recant his Christian faith. He became one of the most venerated saints and megalomartyrs in Christianity, and he has been especially venerated as a military saint since the Crusades. He is respected by Christians, Druze, as well as some Muslims as a martyr of monotheistic faith.
In hagiography, as one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers and one of the most prominent military saints, he is immortalized in the legend of Saint George and the Dragon. His memorial, Saint George’s Day, is traditionally celebrated on 23 April. Historically, the countries of England, Ukraine, Ethiopia, and Georgia, as well as Catalonia and Aragon in Spain, and Moscow in Russia, have claimed George as their patron saint, as have several other regions, cities, universities, professions, and organizations. The Church-Mosque of Saint George in Lod (Lydda), Israel, contains a sarcophagus believed by many Christians to contain St. George’s remains.

I always fly a St George’s flag , proud to be English ! I drove around Dedworth and Windsor and saw about 5 flags , what a disgrace ! A Garrison town as well , what a betrayal of all the young soldiers who fought and died for England , and most people can’t be bothered to put a flag out !! Sad country now .
