This is a free, family friendly event. No alcohol is permitted on the premises. Please be considerate to surrounding residents. Absolutely no discrimination will be tolerated.
You will find Jewellery for sale by Momma Made, have a chat with Windsor & Eton Pride, drink a cheeky mocktail and let the kids do some colouring while you mingle with the Pride community.
Join us for our launch event fundraiser on 14th September at Windsor and Eton Brewery. It’s free, but donations are appreciated, and raffle prizes are welcome. We’ve got a fantastic lineup with stand-up comedy, a choir, live music, drag queens, bingo, educational speeches, and a disco to finish. It’s going to be a blast!
Even with laws like the Equality Act, there are still places where people don’t feel safe. This whole scheme started after I got an email from someone in the LGBT community saying Windsor didn’t feel safe to them. They were afraid to go to certain places in town, which really hit me hard. How can we host Pride when some of our community doesn’t feel safe?
That’s one of the reasons we postponed our event to next year—we needed to address this first.
Sticker Competition – August:
We’re finalizing the details, but here are the two categories: take a picture of the sticker then tag #windsoretonpride
1. The furthest distance from Windsor, either horizontally or vertically.
2. The most interesting or amusing location (without breaking the law or being disrespectful).
Other News:
We’ve had some amazing support from local organizations and people passionate about making Windsor & Eton Pride a success. Legoland has been fundraising for us all of June, and Windsor and Eton Brewery have been a huge help. We have also been contacted by some very important people and organisations that are not only going to change the event significantly in an amazing way but make it even more of an impact for our first event.
Our committee has grown to nearly 20 awesome people, including team leads and diverse groups working together. The mix of backgrounds, ages, sexualities, and other diverse attributes among our members has shaped something truly inclusive for everyone.
That’s all for now!
Cheers,
Steve
