A rare Sunday off, I needed a cycle ride and so used the existing cycle paths to get to Windsor, circa 2 miles away. In town I noticed the Air Cadets getting ready for a parade and was reminded it was Battle of Britain Day and popped down to get a pic of the hurricane, on the river bank, in the sunlight.

It made me think… imagine being able to get the perspective of all those pilots that fought, on both sides, during the 3 months of the Battle of Britain Jul – Oct 1940. (Over 3,000 died during those 3 short months!)
What was the reason for the war in their minds back then? Did both sides see themselves as the good guys?
Were they naive to the political background or very much more tuned in, as we like to think we are today?

Why are our leaders so keen to create a nuclear war with Russia?
Why are we cutting small but essential benefits to our older generations, a million of whom were children in 1940 and instead giving £3,000,000,000 to an actor who leads a nation which is set to be rebuilt by Black Rock, whose expertise is in managing $10 trillion of assets. Rather like a combo board game, mixing “Risk” with “Monopoly” but VERY real!

One simple question would be, if all the major cities in the world are nuked, then what is the asset value of those cities? Or is it based on the potential rebuild contracts? How do you value 1,000 year old castles?
And if this is simply all about the money… if there are no builders to build the next Burj Khalifa then is the true value of these contracts a big fat ZERO?

Kids just want to have fun at the fair, sing in the park and play along the river bank… do any of us want or need the stress of another World War?

Talking about contracts, I noticed Alexandra Gardens needs turfing again! I wonder how much that BIG Wheel contract made all parties this summer?
I was in two minds whether to post this blog but I can’t be the only one whose head is confused with all this postering and would really prefer it if we kept our neb out of other countries business and focused on making England a green and pleasant land as it was in some distant fairy tale.

Time to enjoy some end of summer sun. A nice walk round a pond before a proper Sunday dinner 😉
Thank you.
