Three good causes received a welcome cash boost when community-conscious colleagues at Tesco stores in Windsor handed out grants, from the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme, worth £3000.

Friends of Oakfield First School were able to celebrate after receiving a cheque for £1,500 which will help fund a new trim trail to enhance play for all the pupils, to help support their physical and mental health.

We’re absolutely delighted that Oakfield has been awarded the Tesco Stronger Starts grant! Thanks to this fantastic support, we’ve been able to build a brand-new trim trail space frame that gives the children more opportunities to be active, build confidence, and develop resilience. This new space won’t just support their physical health — it will also boost wellbeing, teamwork, and mental health by encouraging outdoor play and positive challenges every day. We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this possible! Chair Friends of Oakfield

Windsor Netball Club can buy some new netball posts after receiving £1,000 and WIndsor Ruby Club’s can support some of their players’ families, who could not otherwise afford to join their team mates, with a £500 grant.
Windsor shoppers can use the Stronger Starts scheme to support local groups by dropping the Tesco community tokens they receive at checkouts into the relevant slot as they leave the store.
Jon Davey, Community Champion at Tesco Dedworth, was really pleased with the results. “It was great to see three Windsor based community groups benefit this time. Thankfully more local groups are getting involved and I’d encourage all local groups to spend a little time filling in the application form, every year or so. This is free money!”
