Procession of Her Majesty’s Coffin to St George’s Chapel for the Committal Service

Talking to someone involved in the preparations. All the flowers that had been laid at the gates had been processed and turned into the magnificent carpet of flowers, lining Her Majesty’s root into Windsor Castle.

At 5am I popped down to get a feel for the day ahead… people were already milling around…

When we arrived at Windsor Castle at 10am families were laying flowers against the walls.

We watch the funeral at Westminster Abbey at The Guildhall.

Local Councillors were privileged to be invited to watch the procession of Her Majesty’s Coffin to St George’s Chapel for the Committal Service from near the Cambridge / George IV Gate.

We also had a big screen directly in front of us to watch proceedings.

All the bands marched past us on their way to escort Her Majesty / line the root.

King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery pulling the World War One vintage 13 Pounder field guns which fired the minute gun salute (one round every 60 seconds during the procession) from the East Lawn of Windsor Castle.

The next three videos are the procession…

Thank you Ma’am… rest well…

Thousands lined the Long Walk

We watched the Committal on the big screen…

And as the sun set, giving Windsor Castle a warm glow, we shared our Royal stories…

Thank you.
