I’d been exploring roles as an officer in local councils for a while. After 4 years as a local Councillor I really enjoyed helping the local community but found the politics all rather dull.

A brief conversation around AL21 with a Bray Parish Councillor resulted in me providing some administrative sickness cover over the summer and at the last Main Council Meeting the Councillors voted unanimously to offer me the role of Deputy Clerk at Bray Parish Council.

It’s a part-time role and I will continue with my Tesco Community Champion role, giving up the checkout assistant element.

One aspect of the role is exploring ideas of how we might spend CIL monies… so if you have any ideas, email me at deputy@brayparishcouncil.gov.uk

Hope you enjoyed some photos from around Bray Parish.
Thank you.
Jon

Repairing/replacing the water trough (which leaks) towards the end of the Bray Parish cemetery would be a good start, Jon, I made Esther aware of this throughout the year but nothing has been done. Thank goodness there is a nearby standpipe but at least the cemetery is otherwise very well maintained.
