Residents Asked to Shape the Vision for Windsor

Today we’re communicating the next stage in our Vision for Windsor project, involving the Windsor community and wider Royal Borough to help shape a compelling vision for how they’d like Windsor town centre to evolve over the next 20-plus years.

The Council is working with The Prince’s Foundation charity to engage residents, community groups, businesses and others in creating a shared view of where Windsor should be heading as a high-quality, distinctive and sustainable place to live, work, spend leisure time and do business. Following a public survey and a Visioning Workshop with partners, held earlier this autumn, the next stage of the process comprises in-person and further online engagement activities for the whole community, to help people and organisations share their thoughts and ideas.

The result will be a genuinely collaborative “Vision for Windsor” that reflects Windsor’s rich diversity and heritage, strengths and opportunities, as part of a coherent, community-owned narrative for its future. Together with suggestions from a range of local partner organisations, the community’s thoughts and ideas will help shape a visioning document that will complement existing strategic plans and guide future decisions and collective energies of the Council and potentially a range of partners.

Drop-in events and online engagement

Earlier this autumn, the community was invited to complete a survey and other engagement activities to share what they think is good in the town centre, what they would like to change and what they would like to keep and take forwards into the future. A Visioning Workshop also took place with a range of local partner organisations.

As part of analysing the feedback and developing a visioning document for Windsor, people are invited to one of two public drop-in sessions this month. These sessions, facilitated by The Prince’s Foundation, will give people the opportunity to comment on the key themes and ideas emerging from the survey and partner workshop, and to share any further ideas or thoughts.

These will take place at Windsor Library, Bachelors Acre, on

  • Thursday 10 November, from 3pm to 7pm
  • Saturday 12 November, from 10am to 12.30pm.

People can also see the information online and comment between today and Sunday 27 November at https://rbwmtogether.rbwm.gov.uk/vision-for-windsor

Thank you

Jon
