Thames Valley Police Getting Knives OFF Our Streets

Thames Valley Police is joining police forces across the country by taking part in Operation Sceptre, a national week of action designed to reduce the threat of knife crime across the Thames Valley by removing dangerous weapons from the streets.

There is a bin on the outside of Tesco Dedworth near the Gallys Road roundabout if you find any knives and want to dispose of them.

In this video Matthew Barber, the Police & Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley explains why we have knife bins to Joe Pothecary, General Manager, Tesco Dedworth.

Inspector Louise Warbrick, based at Maidenhead police station, said: “This partnership initiative provides our communities the opportunity to safely dispose of their knives and removes dangerous weapons from the streets. Tackling and preventing knife crime is a priority for the force and we continue to engage with our communities to raise awareness of the dangers and consequences of carrying a knife.
