Blokes Losing Timber Walk & Talk got off to a Great Start
Blokes Losing Timber Walk & Talk got off to a great start at 2pm on Saturday 3rd June 2023.
We walked & talked from Alexandra Gardens bandstand, over the bridge to Eton and along the towpath to Dorney Lake and back via The Swan in Clewer.
Taking in St Mary Magdalene Church in Boveney along the way and stopping to watch the boats go up and down at Boveney Lock.
Talking to Tony about being an overseas Aid Worker and the huge range of projects he’s been involved in was fascinating. Over a pint at The Swan we touched on managing our calorie intake as we watched Man City take the FA Cup.

Tony is new to Windsor. His wife spotted the post on Windsor People’s Facebook page and suggested he might want to pop along and meet some new people.
Was a lovely walk and a great opportunity to get to know Jon and hear more about his laudable mission. Dropping into the pub rounded off the afternoon nicely. Looking forward to future walks and talks.

Three other chaps had booked. One contacted me to say he’d just got back from a walking holiday and needed to rest for a few days. Another must have realised the clash with the football. While the third walked past me in Tesco and said his partner had sent him out to get food in for a last minute barbeque in the afternoon so he’d not be able to make it… we had words 😉
Great start, next up we have The Long Walk to the Copper Horse and back… you up for it? Or have you a cleaning list for Tuesday week!
Thank you.
