Happy Days

It’s great spending time with family around Christmas. It might be just a few hours over a meal or a couple of days under one roof.

I always loved Boxing Day as we’d visit my Nanna Davey in Norwich for her birthday and all my cousins would be there 🙂 She had 6 kids, so lots of cousins to hang out with.

How innocent we were back in the 80s. No mobile phones or social media. We had to be there to experience things in real time.

We knew nothing of International affairs. We’d have to watch the news to have some insight and that was “so boring” so we’d invariably have none!

Today the news comes at us thick and fast… with hundreds of channels featuring the best worse news they can find to drive clicks & views.

Facebook seems to be all about family fun… but LinkedIn is full of Gaza from all sides of the argument.

Seems to me most people, let’s go with Pareto, 80% are looking for a simple life. Wishing everyone the best and meaning it. All they want is for their family & friends to be happy & healthy.

20% have black spots on their souls and are focused on their own greed with no compassion for those outside their immediate circle.

Trouble is, the 20% tend to get into really powerful positions, buy up all the comms, offer sweeteners and encourage the promotion of corruptable people to do their bidding.

If we love our families, why do we allow such people to get into positions of power?

We need to look at what we value most and consider how to go about changing things…

If you of the school of thought that believe you have no influence then children will continue to be murdered in Gaza, powerful people will get richer on each bomb sold and the end times will be welcomed in.

Or you can influence the politicians with our votes… determine how companies operate through our buying power… choose who we hang out with and speak up for what we believe is right.

In that way we might stand a small chance of changing the end result…

Thank you.

Jon
