I’ve got a number of copies of the Windlesora and this morning thought I’d take a look at the Windsor Local History Group website… What an amazing number of stories to read… 50 years of stories about Windsor’s history 😉

Here’s the one about HG Wells apprenticing in the town…
Hours of reading to be done on their website, go and enjoy…
Windlesora is our annual journal of the WLHG. Articles cover a wide range of topics related to Windsor, Old Windsor, and Eton. Each Windlesora contains any number of fascinating articles about the town, its businesses, its people, and more. The cumulative content of over 500 articles, represents a valuable source of information.
Local History Research Day
Friday 17th April from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Organised by the Windsor Local History Group, this is the first of our special events. We are celebrating the group’s 50th anniversary this year.
All are welcome to attend this FREE session. It will be held in the Thames Room community space in the Windsor Library. This space is accessible by lift from the ground floor. This session is a great opportunity to explore maps, books, and other local history materials from the library’s reference collection. You can also see selections from the WLHG archives. We are also able to advise on resources for family history enquiries and house research. Copies of the group’s publications will be available to purchase, including the annual Windlesora magazine.
Windsor Library, Bachelors Acre SL4 1ER.
Could be fun.
Thank you.
Jon
