Balancing Social Channels Focus with Our I Love Windsor Blog

I tend to set a target or two at the start of the year.

Just missing our blog stats target in 2022 was a tad irritating and so we ensured success in 2023… achieving over 56,000 page views (target 52k).

Starting afresh in 2024, our focus for the first quarter is on bringing together our hard copy Directory of Windsor Community Groups & Charities 2024.

We now have over 30 Community Groups & Charities who have already submitted content, over 40 have indicated a desire to be part of it, so our goal of having 50 organisations listed for our first issue is well on target.

We’re looking for all those interested in being part of the directory to have registered interest via the form above by the end of January. They simply need to put in windsordirectory.co.uk into their browser and the relevant page will be delivered.

Obviously in 2024 most organisations have some type of online profile but to ensure we reach as many groups as possible we have:

  • Produced a hard copy paper flyer to create awareness amongst those not on social media
  • Been out distributing the flyer to relevant community spaces including libraries, churches, village halls, etc.
  • And asked everyone we communicate with to spread the word far and wide amongst those they know who are part of a local community groups.

To ensure our own clarity of focus we have changed the rules of our Facebook Groups. For the last year we have allowed all types of posts but this is changing to focus on Community News & Events. No more general business posts.

Here is our new introduction which we have published on all our blog pages and our I Love Windsor Community UK Facebook Group.

Thank you.

I Love Windsor – Sharing Community News & Events plus stories about Local Heroes since 2009 ILoveWindsor.co.uk

Created by Jon Davey, Community Champion at Tesco Dedworth, a Rotarian and was a borough Cllr 2019-23.

Communities are made up of a wide range of individuals who see the world uniquely from their own perspectives. Where they were born, schooled and worked before becoming Windsorians adds to the potential magic of the community in which we live. Harnessing and enhancing that richness for the benefit of all has to be our purpose.

Our main role is to facilitate conversations that turn into actions that benefit the local community in some way.

Our blog achieved over 56,000 page views in 2024 and we have a couple of Facebook Groups that achieve over 50,000 views a month, such is the popularity of social media.

Please use our blog’s contact form to share your news and we will liaise with you about pictures and any questions we may have.

If you have A4 / A5 posters about your community events then bring them into Tesco Dedworth and leave them at our Customer Service Desk for my attention and I will add them to our public notice board.

Thank you.
