Age Concern Windsor
Age Concern Windsor are based at the Spencer Denney Centre where we run a selection of social groups and support services for older people. These include our Day Services Wed-Friday 9:30-14:30 that has morning and afternoon activities, a three course lunch and lots of laughs and chatter. On Tuesdays we have social lunches, bingo, quizzes, and now a new for 2024 table top gardening group. On the 2nd Sunday of the moth we host a Sunday Lunch. We run a meals on Wheels services for Windsor, Old Windsor and Datchet that brings hot two course meal to your door. Lastly we have a befriending scheme to help people feel more connected to the world. We are also hosting a number of fund raising events to support out services and new for 2024 cooking for one course this January and hopefully more to come later in the year.
What one of our volunteers looks like…
We really enjoy having volunteers help us as we can help more people. We have variety of different roles with flexible commitment levels so if you’re looking to help each week for a couple of hours or ad hoc here and there we’ve probably got something you might like.
- Helping on the Day Service by chatting with our clients, prepping craft activities, serving refreshments.
- Meals on Wheels, delivering meals on Wheels, helping in the kitchen, some admin tasks.
- Befriending, giving a local older adult a weekly call to help them feel more part of the world
- We are also looking for people to help with our gardening group once a month, administration.
- Always happy to hear from groups who would like to help as we have some bigger tasks like painting as well.
