There is currently political hysteria being brought to Windsor’s social channels which is very tedious, since those bringing it were those responsible for putting the museum facility under financial stress in the first place!
The practical reality is that solutions need to be found that fit the needs of Windsor’s residents and visitors in 2024.
In 1964 you visit a town, you look for the tourist information when you get there to find out what accommodation is available, what shows are performing in town, which are the best restaurants, what is there to do, etc.
In 2024 we have a the Windsor.gov.uk website that I suspect deals with over 90% of any tourists’ needs before they even get here.

Would trolley carts as imagined above and attendants armed with ipads be able to meet the needs of the rest who will be looking for quick answers in this technology based world?
A small museum makes sense when there is not a huge castle next door which hosts far more artifacts about the town and national history.
In 1964 you go on a school trip to see & learn about stuff. In 2024 we have the Internet.
Could volunteers visit schools with a few selected artifacts for the kids to hold but essentially present online using the school screen. Save all the Health & Safety forms, travel costs, etc.
How many older people will access the museum in 2024 and for what purpose? How else can these needs be addressed?
When did you last visit?
Don’t listen to the political noise, help find real solutions…
How Do We Create a Windsor Museum Service Fit for 2024?
Complete the form below if you want to be kept up to date on any events we may organise around this or have any ideas you’d like to share we will happily pass on to the decision makers looking for solutions…
Thank you.
