Windsor Lions’ celebration of the year was held on the 16th January, an annual Awards Presentation Evening where they applaud Windsor Lions major fundraising and community events of 2024, amongst them the annual Horse Ride and Swimathon.
Recognising all their prize trophy winners as well as awarding donations to charities and other good causes nominated as beneficiaries of the funds they raised during the year.
At the heart of Windsor Lions is one constant, volunteers giving their time and energy to help others. We are all about service, making a real difference in our community!
We are a group of ordinary people doing extraordinary things to help those in need, whether it is raising funds, lending a hand, or simply spreading kindness.
We love to get involved ! From fundraising events like the Windsor Great Park Horse Ride, Swimathon, Santa Sleigh touring around the town, to hands-on projects such as:
Supporting local causes: We help individuals in need, referred to us by local agencies like Social Services, Citizens Advice, Achieving for Children.
SpecTrek: Collecting used specs and hearing aids for recycling to other countries.
Food Bank: Volunteering weekly to help those in need.
Defibrillators: Installing lifesaving publicly accessible 24×7 defibs around town.
Spring Party: Annual afternoon tea for guests from a variety of clubs, sheltered housing and individuals who might not get out too often.
Prostate Cancer (Biennial) Screening: Offering free PSA blood tests to local men (next event will be April 2025).
