It all started a few week’s earlier for us. We’d come back from a family holiday to a phone machine full of messages. Our Business in Berkshire website was all over Google at the time!
- Did we know anyone who worked for Charles or Camilla?
- Could we give an interview to Canadian TV?
- The Paul O’Grady Show rang to see if we could do a Ken & Deidre t-shirt to match the happy couple one we’d done.
- Even BBC World Service called looking for connected people!
This time next year Rodney, our global t-shirt business would make us millionaires 😉

We were booked for the show wearing our matching “On this Day” t-shirts and then the Pope passed away! And like that, we were back on the barrow 😉

I’d just bought a 10 year old Audi convertible. Had popped out to get a plasma telly, or was that the other way round. Anyway, I was keen to enjoy the spring sunshine. We forgot to pay the congestion charge… we even have a photo of the special day somewhere 😉

A pall of mine, now Senior Comms for a Labour Minister, was training Sky camera people at the time and so had a direct line to the News team. Which meant an opportune conversation with Greg at Latino’s led to us all making a few quid for a room with a view of The Guildhall 😉

Another friend was heading up The Prince’s Trust for Berkshire and so I connected her to BBC World Service. Protocol meant her boss did the interview, freeing her up to take advantage of a couple of tickets for inside the castle grounds on the day. As the dot joiner, she kindly invited me 😉
Here are a few more pics…

Lovely time… great build up, slight hickup and then a great day had by all.
Happy China wedding anniversary your Majesties on 9th. Watch out for those import duties and maybe cancel that invite 😉
Thank you.
