A BIG THANK YOU to The Prince Philip Trust Fund

A BIG THANK YOU to The Prince Philip Trust Fund for supporting, what will essentially be enough directories for at least one year, possibly two. We’ll split the print runs to optimise production costs while ensuring the hard copy directory is as up to date as possible.

The Prince Philip Trust Fund Sponsor Windsor Directory

On Monday I received an email from Chris Aitken saying, “I  am delighted to let you know that, at our Trustee meeting on Thursday 13th November chaired by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, we awarded you a grant for printing the 2nd edition of your directory.”

Here is the essence of our application that the trustees were able to support.

“We created the first directory in March 2024, producing 1200 hard copies of an A5 directory which was funded by the RBWM Innovation Fund. The positive feedback we’ve had from the community is amazing and we can forward testimonials. The original concept was to support those looking for volunteering opportunities but it has so many more valuable uses, including:

– Enabling community groups to connect to each other and find like minds

– Offering direction for those looking for support at a time of need

– Providing those looking to make provision in their estate for local charities to find beneficiaries

– Enabling those enthusiastic about doing something for the community to find sources of support and mentorship

AI assisted with following description:

Imagine discovering a friend or relative had quietly endured months of struggle, hesitant to ask for help, silently hoping for a solution to their pain. This scenario, unfortunately, is a daily reality for many in our community. People often face life-altering challenges – a bereavement, cognitive decline, a sudden health crisis – and feel immense pressure not to be a burden, leading to isolation and prolonged distress.

We are actively addressing this by producing the Windsor Directory of Community Groups and Charities. Initially conceived to connect volunteers with meaningful causes, its true power lies in being a vital, accessible lifeline for those in need. For our aging relatives, those whose lives suddenly change, or even the professionals constantly asked “Do you know someone who…”, this physical directory offers immediate, tangible solutions. It’s a beacon of positive energy, a curated guide to the incredible support networks thriving right here in Windsor.

Our commitment is to distribute these directories free of charge. We believe placing a copy in every home that needs one, particularly for those less comfortable with digital resources, is paramount.”

Thank you.
