22/02167/FULL Land Adjacent To 15 Franklyn Crescent Windsor

An application has been received to build on the land next to 15 Franklyn Crescent and if officers are minded to permit the development then I have asked for the application to be called to a Windsor and Ascot Development Management Committee meeting where the decision would be made by Councillors.

There are a number of reasons to object to this application.

Firstly, the land is Adopted Highway which means the council will not permit development unless there are very special circumstances to do so and I can’t see there being any on this land.

The land borders and it could be potentially argued, is very much part of the Hemwood Dell ecosystem which is Designated Green Space.

The area is made up of medium size 4-5 bedroom houses and so the layout and design are not in keeping with the other houses in that area.

Any build would impact on the amenity space of local residents, many who have lived there since the estate was built, with these green areas designed by the builders to be community spaces, not for building new homes in the future.

There is no space for parking unless you are going to build a road which would have impact on the existing trees, a number of which are hundreds of years old and protected by TPOs.

The property foundations would naturally impact on the tree roots of existing trees and have a huge impact on the natural environment and the biodiversity of the area.

There are no special circumstances to permit building in this area and I would encourage officers to refuse the application.

These applications on adopted highway cause unnecessary stress for local residents and should be dismissed at the earliest convenience.

Thank you.
