Windsor Street Angels

Windsor Street Angels is a community project which forms part of the WCA charity, dedicated to supporting vulnerable people in Windsor’s night time economy. We have been operating since 2012 and have helped over 75,000 people. We support anyone who needs it, from checking in and feeding the street community to safeguarding victims of predatory behaviour. We also offer a safe, quiet space for anyone who needs it called the Safety Hub. We patrol the town carrying a variety of kit and knowledge to be able to deal with any situation that arises and provisions including water, flip flops, first aid and a defibrillator. We have a route that is covered by CCTV who we have constant contact with via a radio and we work in partnership with multiple agencies to keep everyone safe and cared for.

Windsor Street Angels gives you life skills, friendship and so much more.

What one of our volunteers looks like…

All of our volunteers are given training on multiple topics so we can offer the best and safest support we can. Everyone has their strengths and we utilise these to the best of our abilities and teach new ones, some are more oriented to monitoring while others are more hands on. You do a shift whenever you want to, some will do one shift every couple of months, others will do every other week. On a shift, you will observe, communicate, report, care and so much more. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds who all bring something unique to the team. As long as you are kind and want to help people, you are welcome to join, it doesn’t matter where you come from, beliefs, age. Everyone is welcome.
