A Lesson in Getting Things Done
This lesson is for all those who don’t like being a pain in the butt. Sometimes you have to be to get things done.
As I hope you are aware by now, I’m pulling together a Directory of Windsor Community Groups & Charities 2024 and looking to distribute in April. This means I need to formulate the layout by early Feb, create during Feb / Mar, publish backend of March.
So all those who want to be part of it need to have completed our entry form online, or phoned me to arrange a different method, by the end of January 2024. That’s 15 days away.
- Currently 25 have given me words and a picture
- 8 have sent me words
- 11+ have indicated a desire to be part of it
- That’s 44+ with a level of commitment.
My goal was to get 40-50 listed in the first edition. So I’m there bar the detail but the detail is what is important.
I appreciate life is busy for community people as they not only have their community world to think about but also family, friends, work / business interests.
Therefore folk need reminding of the deadline and while I don’t need the full 300+ words that will form the actual final entry, I do need a notice of intent to join in so I can plan the page layout.
Please, please, please can you indicate your intent to join in by adding a few words to this form. Add two or more entries if you are part of different community groups and plan on submitting fuller entries shortly…

If you don’t plan on joining in and have received one of my “nagging” emails then please, advise that you will not be joining in and I will stop sending them.
The lesson here is you have to keep reminding people as they have so many other things that are far more important to them going on in their heads.
Sometimes you just have to nag so that you have given them every opportunity to join in and if they miss the deadline that is entirely up to them.
I can hear many of you laughing right now, “good luck with that!” I hear you cry. Hence the use of the graphic… found that bunch of years ago on Unsplash, it’s got great energy.
Do join in if you are a Community Group or Charity that focuses its energy on Windsor.
