It’s always good to tweak your social media platforms to prevent them from going stale.
We reversed our website earlier in the month to see if the page average per visitor could be improved. Currently tracking 50,000 unique visitors and 80,000 page views for 2024. That ratio has been very similar for years so we opted to remove all the noise from the top of the page and put it at the bottom. Give the viewer the news they are looking for rather than lots of other distractions.
Around a third of our visitors come from FaceBook where we have 2 main groups but had created others along the way and thought we’d give them a refresh.
I Love Windsor – Community News
We have renamed our main group and its focus will be very much just community content. We’d already removed renovation posts and the like, now we can push restaurants over to Eating Out and the Exercise folk accordingly.
Our events group becomes… radical!
We started a group mid year while exploring a eateries directory and do find restaurant posts on the main group don’t fit the vibe, so they can be pointed here and share to their hearts content 😉
We tried to create a blokes walking club under Blokes Losing Timber but blokes are quite happy with their timber and the thought of talking on a walk was obviously not that appealing to them 😉 This space can now accommodate all the exercise people and we have called that rather surprisingly… I Love Windsor – Exercise
I Love Windsor – Handy (Wo)men
And one for the builders, plumbers, decorators, gardeners, etc out there.
I Love Windsor – Domestic Help
I Love Windsor – Hair & Beauty
Let us know what you think.
Thank you.
