With over 1,100 hard copies distributed since March 2024 and evidence of more than 4,000 views online, we’d like to hear from those who have used our directory.
We’re in the process of completing the Berkshire Community Foundation grant application form and one of the questions asks…
Please tell us about your organisation’s experience of helping people and the impact of your previous work; you may also wish to tell us about the people involved in your project and why you are confident in their ability to make the project succeed.
See quotes from existing users below the form…
If you could assist us please by completing the form:
Thank you.

It has been great to inform people we would not necessarily reach to know about Windsor & Eton Pride and what we are doing. Its not just a Gay Pride or a Lesbian Pride. It is somewthing for the whole community and this allows us to reach that community and demonstrate that. Our fiirst event was a clear demonstration of that as it showed everybody getting together and celebrating that. Something that has been lacking in the area for some time.
Yes, the Windsor and the Maidenhead Directories are invaluable. For at least 10 years I have heard countless voluntary & community groups in the Royal Borough say they would like a hard copy directory of all the voluntary and community groups in Windsor & Maidenhead. It was picked up at various times by the Council – but nothing happened! It took one man, Jon Davey, to decide to make it happen and through his tenacity and single-mindedness he made it happen. We have given out copies to local Groups I support including the Windsor & Maidenhead Community Forum, Men’s Matter and through Partnership events. It’s used by residents in Windsor & Maidenhead so they can get the support they need or even offer to volunteer for a group. The Directories are treasures of the local community!
The directory has been so helpful, enabling Royal Collection Trust to share the Windsor Castle community programme more widely with our local audience.
I run the RBWM / Optalis DCA (dementia care advisors) team, we support and advise those living with dementia and those caring for them in Windsor, Maidenhead and surrounding areas.
Wehave found the directory a very useful addition in our role, we are able to use it as a point of reference for families to access volunteer and professional services locally.
The book is excellent as a resource for people living in the community, it is well put together, with clear and well presented words and illustrations.
Above all it is a book crammed full of useful contacts and information, all in one place. An invaluable resource for us as professionals and for those under our care. We have been very impressed with the book and have found it very useful.
