Autumn Equinox – “Heart Beat” Event – 21st September

Was going to be hosted at otherspacearts.com on Sunday 21st September from 12pm… but folk showed little interest, so we’ve cancelled. Let’s see what you could have won 😉

  • 12pm-3pm St John Ambulance will “Keep Your Motor Running” with two workshops on how to save a life (Booking required)
  • 3pm-6pm “Art from the Heart” – works by local artists
  • 6pm-8pm “Music to Soothe the Soul” – local artists will perform and make us all feel good into the early evening.
  • Plus a charity fundraiser, Dad Joke Bingo 😉

While the events happen upstairs, there will be healthy food and drink available downstairs so people can network with like minded community folk. Join us for our next quarterly event.

ST JOHN AMBULANCE
“SAFE A LIFE SEPTEMBER”

First aid is a cause that’s very close to my heart, so I hope that you’ll join me, Paul Andreianu, to learn some first aid. The demonstrations are absolutely free and the skills you learn could help you save a life.

The Impact of Community First Aid

➤ Reduces pressure on health services

➤ Saves lives, improves health outcomes

➤ Provides purpose, development and belonging

Our Purpose

Saving lives with community first aid

Our Vision

Everyone receives the first aid they need in a health emergency from those around them

Our Mission

To put community first aid at the heart of every community:

➤ Responding as volunteers and first responders at events, in communities and as a trusted auxiliary providing surge resilience to the NHS.

➤ Educating and equipping to ensure resilient communities and safer workplaces, inspiring every generation with the confidence to act in a health crisis

The why

1. It’s in our DNA: Being in communities, to share first aid skills and saving lives with community first aid

2. Empowering people: Enable access to community first aid for all through developing relationships

3. Preparedness and Planning: Strengthen resilience by making first aid a central component of every community.

The facts

➤ CPR, choking and severe bleed were named as the top three most important first aid topics to learn

➤ Only four in 10 people know how to treat a severe bleed or do CPR and less than half know how to give basic back blows to a person choking

➤ Nearly half of people would feel panicked if they came across a health emergency due to their lack of training

➤ More than a quarter of people have never learned any first aid

➤ More than half of people surveyed agree it would be easy to learn lifesaving first aid.

Thank you.
