I’d like to thank the Windsor on Ice team for listening to residents’ concerns, making the necessary changes to their layout and consideration for the trees in setting up. Those green fencing panels, first suggested by Cllr Devon Davies for the wheel, worked well.
Perhaps next year, if you get the licence, could we have one sound system across the whole estate instead of different music for every ride!

Obviously we’re going to have to be patient with the laying of new turf with all the rain we are getting. As I understand it, grass can’t be laid on waterlogged ground or it will simply drown, or look like a dog’s dinner when it starts to take. Best to wait.
I’m still not a fan of fun fair rides polluting the gardens but the council can’t be seen to turn down income streams, or the Government will withhold future borrowing. The consequence of years of low council tax.
It would be good if RBWM could quantify how much value the ice rink and funfair brings to Windsor.
The heat map would seem to imply while the ice rink area was popular, the area where the rides are positioned saw much lower footfall! You can view all the heat maps for the town by clicking the link.
Perhaps there are lessons from other historic towns as to what could drive footfall into the town at Christmas?
Thank you.
Jon
