A BIG THANK YOU to the many customers who donated apples, bananas and oranges to enable local children to have a fruit snack before sitting their SATs next week. Thanks to a couple of generous cash donations we were able to top the basics with some mangos, kiwis, blueberries, pears, cherries, pineapple and other fresh fruits.
Eating one piece of fruit before an exam provides a steady, natural source of energy to the brain, improving concentration and memory without causing the energy crashes associated with sugary snacks. Fruits provide simple carbohydrates that are broken down quickly for immediate fuel when the body needs it most.
St Peter’s, St Edwards and Dedworth Middle Schools have some 300 kids taking SATs over 4 days, that’s 1200 pieces of fruit needed!
Customer donations were matched by Tesco Dedworth with the support of two generous customers who gave financial contributions to boost the overall donation.

Thank you Ketan, Lee and all concerned.
