Volunteers Needed to Help Organise Windsor & Pride 2027

Windsor & Eton Pride is inviting local volunteers, creatives and specialist advisors to join its organising team and help shape the next chapter of the festival.

After two vibrant, landmark celebrations in Alexandra Gardens, the volunteer-run charity has built a strong foundation and a loyal community. The events brought thousands of local residents together for free, inclusive days of music, joy and connection, and the team is now looking ahead to 2027 with real ambition.

“We’ve shown what Windsor & Eton can do when it comes together,” the charity said. “Now we want to grow the festival, bring in fresh ideas and make the next Pride even better. Whatever your skills or however much time you can give, there’s a place for you on our team.”

The charity is especially keen to hear from people with experience in event planning, fundraising, marketing, design, finance, accessibility, and community engagement.

No experience is required, only enthusiasm and a commitment to celebrating and supporting the local LGBTQ+ community.New volunteers will have the chance to shape the festival’s direction, develop new skills, meet like-minded people and play a hands-on part in one of the area’s most welcoming community events.

To help lead this crucial next chapter, the charity has welcomed Rob King and Dan Finke as its new Co-Chairs and trustees. Together with the founder Steve Harris & the supporting team, their priority is establishing a robust, year-round planning network to place the charity on firm, sustainable ground.

“Windsor & Eton Pride belongs to this community, and it only exists because ordinary local people choose to stand up and make it happen,” said trustee Steve Harris. “We have proven how much love and energy there is for an inclusive festival right on our doorstep, but to keep running this successful free for all event, we need practical people from the community ready to roll up their sleeves and help us build Pride 2027.

Unlike day-of-event volunteering, these year-round positions invite local people directly into the heart of planning. Windsor & Eton Pride is known for ditching corporate waffle, endless PowerPoint presentations, and stuffy bureaucracy in favour of relaxed, collaborative catch-ups over a coffee or a pint.

The charity is actively recruiting for proactive team players across multiple working groups:

  • Event Production: Technical staging, live sound, lighting, and video delivery.
  • Logistics & Parade Operations: Route planning, crowd safety, site operations, and accessibility.
  • Fundraising & Community Partnerships: Sourcing grants, local business sponsorships, and donor support.
  • Design & Creative: Bringing campaigns to life across social media, print, and physical event assets.
  • Media, Social Content & Copywriting: Storytelling, press outreach, and growing community engagement.
  • Safeguarding & Governance: Championing welfare policies for vulnerable groups and managing GDPR compliance.

Alongside core committee roles, Windsor & Eton Pride is inviting subject matter specialists to serve as Advisors to the Board of Trustees. These flexible, consultation-style roles are geared towards professionals willing to lend an occasional sounding board in areas such as finance and accounting, licensing and local council relations, legal governance, and strategic regional networking.

Prospective volunteers and advisors aged 18 and over can find out more and apply directly via the charity’s recruitment portal at www.windsorpride.co.uk/recruitment/ or by emailing recruitment@windsorpride.co.uk . Every submission is reviewed directly by the organising team.
