The national campaign is about “Gift a toy this Christmas” but we don’t sell many toys so we have adapted our in store campaign by talking with local charities.
Young people don’t necessarily need or want toys but other more practical supplies that many of us take for granted.
We will be giving any items donated to local young people (up to 16), working with charities and the professional care worker network, to ensure all gifts get to those really in need.
Many of the items requested we don’t sell in store… buy gifts where you want to buy them and drop them in the trolley when you are doing your shopping.
PLEASE DON’T WRAP THE ITEMS
Here is the list suggested by charities:
- Toiletries gifts set (teenagers)
- New fluffy socks
- New underwear
- Dressing gowns
- Chocolate treats
- Packs of colouring pens
- Jigsaws ages 3-7
- Jumpers all sizes, boys and girls
- Hats and gloves
- More toiletries sets
- Small toy cars
- Small dolls
- Gifts for teenagers
- Books for teenagers
Please give generously. List available on table near Christmas tree.
UPDATE: We handed out a few flyers this morning, Sat 26th Nov and customers are being really generous.
Thank you.
