Harvest Festival 2023 with a difference…

community fridge asset map details

It is estimated that 1,000,000,000 tons of food are wasted around the world each year! 61% of the food wasted in the UK (4.1 million tonnes) is avoidable! Food that is still perfectly safe and good to eat.

Windsor’s Community Fridge is all about avoiding food waste…

So let’s have a Harvest Festival with a 2023 difference 😉

If you already give at Harvest Festival time to a school, church, foodbank, charity, community group then please keep doing what you are doing.

If you haven’t got a favourite yet then please consider us and there are two ways to give:

  • The Phone Box on the corner of Clarence Crescent & Clarence Road is one option… especially if you have young kids who will just love posting stuff through the window 😉
  • Or alternatively pop along to the Community Fridge in Oxford Road and bring us those tins and dried goods that have been sitting in the cupboard for HOW LONG?

There are lots of people in need in Windsor and many prefer to keep off the radar and so are happy popping down the fridge for a few bits a couple of times a week as we don’t “means test” or ask any questions.

We’re open 11am to 12:30pm Tuesday to Friday at 181 Oxford Road

We have lots of food that needs rescuing by residents… come and see what we do…

We thank you for continuing with your support for the community fridge as this really helps us to replenish the stocks and keep supporting local residents.

We also have another phone box which needs theming, ask your favourite school teacher to get on the case and motivate the class to put in some entries.

Thank you.
