This evening the Planning Panel, Windsor & Ascot Development Management Committee will decide the fate of not just a green field but the dividing land between two small housing estates, one dating back a few hundred years and the other probably similar.
Do tune in tonight at 7pm to see how your Cllrs vote on this development. Will they destroy a hamlet?
- See the meeting details
- Here is the planning paper
- I’d suggest visiting the RBWM planning portal and reading the objections, search 23/00582
- Watch here at 7PM TONIGHT
The developers talk of NO statutory objections but if there were it wouldn’t be coming to planning. What they are inferring is no objections but I can see at least 20!
One of the most recent by Andrew Hill who makes a very positive, thoughtful contribution around road traffic and air pollution will hopefully have been read by Cllrs sitting on the panel.
These few acres are set to become, recommended for approval by officers, 135 homes, squashed in to maximise the developers profits with little or no consideration for the history it is destroying.
With talk of 40% affordable… which seems to me to basically mean they up the standard price by 20% to accommodate the “reduction”.
If we look at what the developers have been allowed to do on the old Squires site, Cllrs will hopefully recognise that it’s overdeveloped with properties towering over the historic Willow properties. If this is allowed on the other side of the Willows estate then it will be very sad for the residents and a case study for future planning officer training on how to destroy a hamlet.
Thank you.
Jon
