Northern Lights Experience

Yesterday we flew to Tromso in Norway for a few days in the hope of seeing the northern lights.

We took the kids to Lapland 20 year’s ago and missed out by a day!

Last night there were clear skies, so after a 5:30am start to the day we got back to the hotel around midnight, a tad tired.

We got to see a display but the “brightness” was down to having a 10 second shutter speed… pull that light in!

We had assumed, after all the photos we’ve seen, that on a clear night we’d see an awsome display… not some vague lights in the sky.

Question I guess is should we go on another trip out, can take 4-5 hours? Or is what we saw all we can expect to see…

Thank you.

Jon

  1. Take the opportunity of another trip. Even if you don’t see a spectacular display, at least you’ll have given it another go!
