Brownies

Brownies welcomes all girls from 7 to 10 years old for nonstop fun, learning and adventure. Each unit will typically have 24 Brownies which are split into smaller groups called Sixes for some activities. Leaders organise their meetings following our exciting programme with fun activities, games, the chance to learn new skills and earn lots of badges, all while being supported by our trained volunteers. Many units go off site for meetings, especially in the summer, including to our camp site in the Windsor Great Park for s’mores over fires, tracking, wide games and exploring. We aim to organise weekend day trips, often for all Brownies in Windsor a couple of times a year. Many units run Pack Holidays or go to PGL centres during school holidays.
In Windsor and Old Windsor there are 10 units which meet early evening. If interested to join please register at Register a child | Girlguiding

What one of our volunteers looks like…
There are plenty of roles working directly with young people in guiding. All the different roles are described here Volunteer roles working with girls | Girlguiding.

Whatever you volunteer to do – a unit leader, young leader (age 14-18), regular unit helper or occasional volunteer you will have fun and be an inspiring role model to girls and young women. If you’re working on your DofE or a similar volunteering programme, and aged 13-18 you can join Girlguiding as a young external volunteer. You’ll go to unit meetings, with the volunteer team and plan and run amazing activities for girls.

Volunteers need to commit to the term time meetings and ideally support the extra activity like trips. Overall, it is extremely rewarding to be involved and there are many different groups in Girl Guiding from age 4-18. Just Register your interest | Girlguiding to find out more about guiding near you.
