Thames Hospice

Proudly serving the community of East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire for more than 36 years, we provide specialist palliative and end-of-life care services to people aged 16 and over in their homes and within the Hospice. Our services are free of charge to all those in our community who need vital hospice care but this is only made possible through the charitable support and generosity of our community. We receive a 26% financial contribution towards our operating costs funded by NHS England and need to raise £38,363 each day to fund our services 365 days a year to the people who need us most. If you would like to make a donation, access our services, or join our amazing team of Nurses, Staff and Volunteers, please visit our website at www.thameshospice.org.uk.

What one of our volunteers looks like…
We have a range of volunteer roles across the hospice and in the community. At our hospice in Bray, we have volunteer drivers, day centre volunteers and also volunteers in the Inpatient Unit. Volunteers also help us as gardeners to maintain the grounds.
We have 23 shops, two of which are in Windsor: in Peascod Street and Dedworth. We rely on the support of our retail volunteers who carry out a range of tasks: sorting and processing donated stock, Visual merchandising on the shop floor and customer service. It is a great opportunity to make new friends and support your local community.
We also have ad hoc roles for volunteers as ‘Event crew’. These volunteers can sign up and help us when it suits them at any of our fundraising events in the local area.
