I joined Men’s Matters Windsor for their Christmas lunch at The Boatman in Windsor today.
Next year I could officially be a member as I hit the BIG 60… there are some men in their sixties but the average is nearer mid-70s. Because of that there is always room for a few new members as existing ones go off to pastures new.
It’s important for our mental health to have people we regularly meet up with to chat about stuff.
Blokes are particularly rubbish at arranging to meet up.
And if they don’t have wives or partners to hoof them out the door once a week then they’ll probably end up watching Bargain Hunt or other such light weight TV, all day, every day.
If you are concerned about a neighbour, friend or relative and think they would get something from hanging out with a bunch of grumpy old men every week. Then take them along to a meeting.
Windsor group meet at All Saints Church in Deworth on Mondays from 2-4 and Maidenhead group meet at their Community Centre on Wednesdays at the same time’.
