Over 80 like minded people gravitated to the Windsor Family Hub today for our Spring Equinox gathering. Many new connections were made and existing connections became stronger.

Thanks to Chris from Achieving for Children for providing the space. Got his good side 😉
Windsor’s MP Jack Rankin popped in for an hour and spoke to most, if not all the exhibitors. He’s in many of the pictures below because I used that moment, escorting him round the community groups, to capture images of our exhibitors.
I also shot some short videos of those exhibitors who were happy to share a few words via that medium.
The order below is based on exhibitors responding to my post show email asking for a couple of lines. Those without a quote will have one soon enough 😉
Thank you to all who attended today… see you next year.

Paul – St John Ambulance
Thanks Jon.
Brilliant gathering & networking opportunity.
It was great catching up with the folks I knew from previously, exchanging ideas for the future events and identifying synergies between the groups we represented for the benefit of the local community.

Steve – Windsor & Eton Pride
Food and drink… 1.5/5
The coffee was lousy , the biscuit selection left little to be desired, no pink wafers or oatmeal hob nobs.
Networking 5/5
Absolutely banging, was great to have a chance to meet those I knew and new people to get them interested in what we are doing and get them onboard.
Amy – Clewer & Dedworth Together CIC
I wasn’t sure what to expect but I found the event really useful from a networking point of view and kept switching roles depending on who I met! Had some great chats.
One area that kept coming up was young people’s wellbeing and youth provision and I was able to share recent family hub research and connect people.
I saw a room of people getting on and doing to help others. Great stuff!
Thanks for organising!

Zoe – Thames Valley Positive Support
The event was really beneficial and a brilliant opportunity for networking with other organisations and connecting with local members. Thanks to Jon for organising the whole thing, looking forward to the next one!

Tim – Men’s Matters
Well done for organising…
Men’s Matters chatted to a number of representatives of local community groups and charities and have invited three or four to come to our weekly meetings and give a talk to our older men about what they do.
We are currently trying to organise a day trip to the Houses of Parliament and it was useful to meet our MP, Jack Rankin, and his PA Annie, to move forward our discussion. We gave out over a dozen leaflets to senior men (or those who know someone) to come along for a taster session. All in all, a useful networking event.
Ed: Sorry about getting the video angle wrong from the start but it’s the words and how Tim says them that counts 😉

Kit – SaveEnergy
Once again, many thanks for today.
It was great for SaveEnergy to have an opportunity to meet with so many good people all in one place, spend time talking about them, their organisations, the things that we have in common and the ways that we might be able to help each other. There was a real buzz in the room, and a willingness to engage and find new ideas and ways of thinking. Can’t wait for the next one!
Cllr Helen Price
The day was really useful for me in networking with community groups and introducing people where I saw a useful link. A lovely atmosphere.

Lottie – Buttons & Bubbles CIC
Thank you for having us today. A fantastic event with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Some really interesting conversations and potential new avenues for us to explore.

Donna – Green Skills Library
The volunteer champions event at the Windsor family hub earlier today was fantastic – both because of the number of people who came to see what services we had on offer, but also because we all had time to collaborate about how we could better serve the community. Well played Jon Davey!

Heather – George VI Day Centre
What a great event! we were able to meet so many interesting people both exhibitors and visitors. Excellent networking and ideas for working together collaboratively and for our mutual benefit.
So busy throughout the event and so much positive energy. Looking forward to the next event!

Ina – Well Windsor
As a newbie on the block Jon, I thought today’s expo was invaluable! We learnt a lot in terms of what is happening on our doorstep and connected with many like minded people. Truely great event

Helen – Thames Valley Great Western Omnibus Trust
Thank YOU for all you did to convene the expo.
It was a very valuable session, yes for the efficient networking between groups, but also for some really useful contacts established with visitors. We met new people and organisations with genuine interest in our activities and we have high hopes of follow on involvement. If the modest number who did visit were so engaged, there must be many others who missed out. Our collective challenge is to contact them and get them through the door, but now we all understand more about how the expo works, perhaps we can be more effective at ‘selling it’ next time round.
Really hope there are opportunities to do this again.
Thanks too to the folk at the Windsor hub who made us so welcome.

Becky – The Autism Group
Always good to meet with other local community organisations, it’s how some of the best partnerships are formed.
We were able to offer information to a few of the members of the public who attended which is always worthwile.
Nice quote from Richard Allen, CEO of The Green Room
Really enjoyable and inspiring event Jon. Well done. A room full of ‘doers’ and kindness!
Inspiring from the rock legend that is…
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Community Champions EXPO as an exhibitor or visitor. We had a good turn out for our first expo and as you can read from the testimonials, it was considered time well spent 😉
