We see our job at “I Love Windsor” is to offer fair and balanced information on what is happening in and around the town for Windsor residents to make up their own mind if they want to participate in any events or not.
To that end I visited the Upgrade Democracy camp yesterday afternoon and spoke to Poppy (Phycologist) and Jason (retired Police Officer) who explained they were setting up camp on the archery field as they had no events planned and this would minimise disruption for the cricket, rugby and fishing clubs.

Full programme for Upgrade Democracy camp at Windsor Castle
The centrepiece of the weekend takes place on Saturday afternoon – a mass assembly or Massembly which should be one of the largest participatory, democratic events ever held in the UK. We will explore the question “How might we take meaningful steps to upgrade democracy?” After understanding more about the challenges with our current system and hearing about democratic innovations that have proven successful elsewhere, people will deliberate in small groups where everyone’s voices can be heard. Then participants will submit their ideas via the open-source app Polis and everyone can vote on them. A simultaneous online version of the Massembly will allow people that can’t be there to take part.
