Top 13 Blogs based on Topics for 2024

This year we’ll have in excess of 80,000 page views of our blog. A BIG THANK YOU to our readers.

For this post, if we’d focused on top 13 blogs, then politics would have dominated and we need more variety in our reading diet or we’ll get indigestion 😉

Home page is always going to be No.1, with over 5,000 views last year.

2. Cheapest Car Park in Windsor 3338 views.

People always love a cheap car park and in 2025 that’ll be more important than ever. Sadly, town was relatively dead yesterday when I went xmas shopping!

3. Preparing for the 1st Meet the Candidates for Windsor 2284 views. We had fun with the elections talking to all the candidates and quizzing them about their policies. Over 20 blog posts, in excess of 11,000 page views. This was all about enabling residents to make an informed choice and we offered a neutral platform although it is nice to see Michael Boyle’s page at the top of the candidates viewing figures 😉

4. Windsor Directory of Community Groups and Charities 1950 views. Almost twice as many views as directories produced. We’ve published the Maidenhead Directory since and it is already generating lots of positive comments. We’ll be adding to both digital directories in the coming months and looking at the next hard copy to produce.

5. Windsor’s Christmas Lights Switch-on Sat 16th November 2024, 1840 views. Lots of interest in this for a few short weeks as we build up to Christmas and then it fades for another year.

6. Windsor PRIDE 1373 views. Big summer event planned and lots of corporate interest in ticking boxes to get involved.  I know organisers would appreciate talking to more people with genuine interest in helping those in the margins of society.

7. Alexander First School and Equine Therapy & Riding School 1229 views. They are trying many different ways to help their students come out of their shells. Great work with army kids who have many things to deal with from an early age with parents going away for long periods into dangerous places. That’s hard enough for partners!

8. XR Says Thank You to Windsor Residents for Being Great Hosts 1117 views. There was a great deal of fear before they landed but it all worked out well in the end with many locals joining in the experience.

9. What are the Benefits of Allowing 320 New Homes on the Land West of Windsor for Existing Residents of Dedworth? 1073 views. This has been a very hot topic over the years but residents lose interest over time and the developers know it. The public needs to push back when the Borough Local Plans are being made as once in the plan, the land will be built on.

10. Windsor Community Forum 849 views. We’ve had a few pages promoting bringing community groups together and moving into 2025 we’ll be having 4 events on the Solstices and Equinoxes to add the old magic to the new.

11. How much is the RBWM Council’s budget deficit? 791 views. This debate is still going on with the previous administration in denial and the current one not really inspiring the local population. Problem with anything council, it seems to take forever to move forward’ It’s not dynamic enough for a TikTok generation!

12. OBJECTION to Planning Application 24/00522 – 5G Mast TOO NEAR Lawns Nursery 754 views. This was refused, amongst others in 2024.

13. Is the River Thames a NO GO Area? 724 views. We should be able to swim in our rivers and hopefully the powers that be will make that clear to those responsible in 2025.

Click through and read each post as you reflect on 2024 and hope for a better 2025.

Thank you and a Merry Christmas to you and yours.
