Hearing the first two questions by Cllrs last night at the RBWM Audit and Governance Committee meeting reinforced my own feelings that the previous administration had chosen candidates who preferred to ask scripted questions, rather than tailoring to responses received!
Thankfully Cllr Knowles, Cllr Bond, Cllr Price and Andrew Hill were there to ask insightful questions.
Elizabeth Griffiths, who now heads up RBWM’s finance team, comes across as a very safe pair of hands to get to the bottom of the issues and try and get us out of this mess.
I used the picture of Andrew Hill to head up this piece as he has been questioning the financial management of RBWM for many years.
Looking forward to a possible revealing motion at Full Council.
Thank you.

A fascinating insight. A lot of important comments and questions.Clearly the pre 2023 RBWM Council was mismanaged on a great scale. Whilst I accept that the top priority is to clear up the mess and put things right, steps should be taken to (1) Ensure that robust systems are put in place so that the same situation does not recur, and (2) Hold those responsible accountable.
