Windsor’s Christmas Lights Switch-on Sat 16th November 2024

Windsor’s annual Christmas lights switch-on event will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, against the scenic backdrop of Windsor Castle. Festivities start at 2:30 p.m. with live performances from local community groups, children’s rides, and various food and Christmas market stalls around the town centre.

The official switch-on is set for 5:30 p.m.

3.00pm – 3.30pm: Heidi Rhodes School of Dance, Queen Victoria Statue
3.35pm – 3.55pm: Susan Handy School of Dance, Queen Victoria Statue
4.00pm – 4.20pm: The Windsor Boys’ School and Windsor Girls’ School
4.25pm – 4.40pm: School of the Arts
4.45pm – 5.15pm: St John’s Beaumont Chapel Choir
5.15pm – 5.20pm: Community singing: O LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM (ALL), O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL (ALL)
5.20pm: (TOWN CRYER) The Worshipful the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Mayor – Cllr Simon Bond
5.21pm: Chair of the Windsor, Eton and Ascot Town Partnership – Louise Wilson
5.23pm: Cast from Dick Whittington, Theatre Royal Windsor
5.29pm: Countdown to Switch-on – Mayor and the Cast from Dick Whittington
5.30pm: Switch-on of the lights
5.31pm: Final carol – HARK! THE HERALD ANGELS SING (ALL)

Windsor’s Christmas Lights Switch-on is set to dazzle!

The event features a stage outside the stunning Windsor Castle, offering festive performances by community groups.

Families can enjoy children’s rides, hot food stands, and Christmas market stalls throughout the town centre.

The celebration will culminate with the cast of Theatre Royal’s Panto Dick Whittington switching on the lights, illuminating Windsor’s largest Christmas tree, generously donated by His Majesty King Charles III.
