Bray RBWM By-Election Blues

With less than a week to go to Bray RBWM Ward by-election day and a clear leader seems to be breaking away from the pack in the form of the blues Clare Stuart-Adams who has done a great job on socials with videos and those photos would indicate she is bashing those doors. Only one error by her team, claiming an ability to tell the parish what to do with their CIL monies…

The Borough First have been too quiet. Lots of flyers but they really had a chance to shine and take this seat but it feels they have missed a trick, which is sad. John said they’ve not done much door knocking as time was limited… in my experience, that’s how you secure votes.

LibDems have been making a ton of poor decisions… promoting the work they’ve been involved in for the community is fair enough but the messaging has been confusing, with apparent claims being denied! Their activists have also been very finger waggy… not a good look.

Reform comes with a big stick and while Will has done some good social engagement, the Maidenhead party channel is full of fear mongering which, while attracting some, will prove a little heavy for many.

It’ll be interesting to see what share of the vote Reform achieves… that will be the big learning curve from this by-election.

Well done to Clare for making good decisions and maximising the Tory brand which is very strong in the area thanks to Leo’s efforts over many years.

It’s a shame the independents haven’t made the most of the opportunity but it is likely to prove a strong lesson for all that door knocking is an essential part of the election process.

That’s my take on the current state of play.

Thank you.

Jon
