The Tree Removal Plan that can be found on the RBWM Planning Portal indicates 23 of 221 trees would be removed. You might be forgiven for thinking it read 23 would remain now the bulldozers have moved in!

The destruction at the site is awful, but it was patently obvious what would happen as soon as the developers moved in. The RBWM are weak and uninterested when it comes to protecting trees. When they give permission for them to be taken down, it is always with the proviso that they will be replaced, but I’ve never seen any evidence of it (neither will have the developers).
Even when residents take down trees without permissions and are served enforcement notice and we are told that the RBWM will replace at the residents expense in the following Autumn (3 trees in Wolf Lane, Windsor) it does not happen and when I queried this with the councillor I was told that the planting team had been so busy they had not had time to plant the 3 replacements. This is despite the fact that it would not have cost the council a penny.
