Our January Community Leader Coffee Mornings have led to a number of initiatives getting off the ground.
Currently our “Books for Schools” project is just getting underway… I’ve spoken to at least 3 people who have a number of books they plan to bring in when they get the chance… around 1/3rd of local schools responded to my initial call to action and I will be giving them another nudge as we’d like as many as possible to get involved.
I thought residents would like to celebrate Valentine’s with photos on the window but that doesn’t seem to have got traction… you can’t win them all 😉
We’ll be helping Men’s Matters with a Defibrillator for All Saints’ Church and working with other local community groups to make that happen.
Knowing that the Boys’ School rowing club is so popular, the Girls’ School is looking for help with raising funds to get more girls into rowing and so we’ll be putting energy into that.
And Windsor Rugby Club needs help with taking the mini rugby squads on tour, with the aim of helping families who struggle to afford it.
Alongside this we have Windsor Lions, Age Concern, The Hospice and the NHS Stop Smoking Service coming into the Foyer to share their work.
