Adding Value to the Local Community Part 3 of 7 Through Membership of Windsor & Eton Rotary Club

In 2009 I was invited to join Windsor & Eton Rotary Club and got to appreciate a different world, less business orientated, helping to raise thousands of pounds for local people in need and good causes. And by way of a bonus, we’ve been invited to some right Royal events 😉

We were lucky enough to get invited to one of Her Majesty the Queen’s Garden Parties at Buckingham Palace where we spoke to the Duke of Edinburgh. He was always looking to put folk at their ease in my experience.

The club have raised almost £500,000 for The Prince Phillip Trust Fund over the years.

We host the Summer Fayre each year in Alexander Gardens along with the Duck Race, raising thousands of pounds for local charities and Windsor’s Christmas lights… one good example from 2016…

Two international projects called to me and we supported both via the High Wycombe Rotary Club Dragon Boat Race, raising money for fishing boats in the Philippines one year.

And Kids in Nepal who are treated appalling should their father die while being a Sherpa, the next.

During Covid we bought a 3D Printer for Windsor Boys School enabling them to produce masks for local businesses.

Both of Windsor’s Rotary Clubs got involved with the Platinum Jubilee.

And we have come up with this initiative based on King Charles’ wishes.

My favourite Rotary initiative is Youth Speaks but that deserves it’s own blog page as Part 4 of 7…

Thank you.
