It’s part of a whistle stop tour of the UK, starting in Edinburgh tomorrow, ending in London next Monday……
How about spending a few hours reflecting on how you might do more to help the planet that we are all passengers on this World Environmental Day? People and the planet are only as healthy as the ecosystems we all depend on. Bringing degraded ecosystems back to life – for example by planting trees, cleaning…
Green fingered residents in the borough are being encouraged to enter this year’s Garden in Bloom competition. Any garden visible from a footpath or road is eligible for entry and nominations can also be made by residents, passers-by or by councillors in their own wards until Wednesday 30 June. Thank you to everyone who put in an OBJECTION to application 21/01269 including Windsor Neighbourhood Plan, The Windsor & Eton Society, Bray Parish Council and Oakley Green & Fifield Residents Association. The beauty about the organisations above responding is that they have a strong understanding of planning law and so know which laws to quote…
https://petitions.rbwm.gov.uk/Planlocal/ Petition to: re-establish two separate Development Planning Panels for Windsor and Maidenhead in line with the understanding agreed by Councillors when COVID struck. Uncertainty over how ZOOM would function saw a single panel created. Residents of Windsor & Maidenhead demand that RBWM, now that the government has forced councils to go back to face…
There is a cultural change going on at the roots of RBWM… acorns sown long ago are growing into great oaks of ancient woodland and the ecology that surround them are being protected, even from the offer of the Yankee dollar! Ecologists, environmentalists, green folk and those of every colour of the rainbow should be…
After hearing from a resident that the District Environmental Crime Officers had been “hunting” for fines outside Dedworth School gate I asked the question “Why?” at Maidenhead Town Forum last night and wasn’t surprised to hear this activity is also going on over in Maidenhead. The DECO lead tried to justify this but it feels…

PLEASE HAVE YOUR SAY Consultation closes Wednesday 2 June 2021 >>> New Councillors will learn how the process of governance works, enabling them to approach a given situation…
We’ve just had a year from hell and hopefully, Indian variant permitting, we can start getting back to “normal”. Can I kindly request a more positive normal… I had an early morning call (8:08am) from a resident pointing out that the grass down at Sutherland Grange had not been cut for 2 months and the…
WERotary has £1,000 to help fund youth projects promoted by voluntary organisations and schools in Windsor & Eton. Applications must be in by 31st May 2021. The Inspector has just dismissed the appeal by MBNL to site a 15m 5G pole on Straight Road in Old Windsor because essentially it would not look great in that area, too big and wouldn’t fit in with rest of the street scene. You can see the full application and all the documents on the…
When the local community comes together to object then RBWM Officers do listen as is demonstrated by the refusal of the plans for a huge illuminated sign at the new ALDI site demonstrates. Other signage will also have limited hours placed on their illumination. Excellent result… search planning for 21/00799 to find out more. Thank…
I just made use of the WNP in my objection to the proposed new 5G Mast on Ruddlesway. I had read through the document a year or so ago but now it is officially part of RBWM Planning it is my duty as a Cllr to read through it properly and look what I found…

When I spoke with Alan this morning about being a candidate in the up and coming Thames Valley Police & Crime Commissioner elections 2021 the phrase that shone out for me was Policing is About People NOT Politics He was in the job for 25 years. I grew up the son of a police officer…
Good evening, just got back from work and the following had landed in my email box. I had heard about the 1.5 mile restricted air space but not reflected on what that would mean properly until now. I’ll be penning an email in the morning 😉 will you? Thames Valley & the Metropolitan Police are…

Recently there was a vision of making major changes to West Windsor and had there been no opposition, just imagine what a driving nightmare West Windsor would be right now had the LTN plan gone through? Reflecting on the intent of the original idea, resident demand for safer streets and the overwhelming understanding that we…
If you have concerns about the street lighting in your area then, if simple, mention below… if more detailed email me Cllr.Davey@rbwm.gov.uk We have an Infrastructure Overview & Scrutiny panel meeting shorty and the topic of Street Lighting is on the agenda. The constant changing of Chairs of the Overview & Scrutiny Panels at RBWM, especially Infrastructure on which panel I have been Vice Chair for the whole year, shows, to my mind, a complete disrespect for the role and ensures the effectiveness of Overview & Scrutiny is reduced to almost obsolescence! Just read this vanilla, end…

The RBWM needs to save money and is proposing to reduce the opening hours of Dedworth Library from 36.5 to 13 hrs per week. Dedworth Library is a well-loved Community Library. At this month’s Windsor Town Forum I was halted by the chair for referring to the RBWM as dysfunctional and told I can’t describe it that way. Dysfunctional is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary, used by Google as the defacto standard source, as “Not operating normally or properly”. The list of examples is too…

Dedworth Library is going through an evolutionary process and needs volunteers, FRIENDS and more people to fill in the RBWM library consultation. I’ve just had an email from The Harlequin Group about an upgrade to an existing telecoms mast requesting feedback within 14 days.
